Drawing and painting have always been an important part of my life.
My childhood years were spent in several small towns in Oklahoma and north Texas. I have always enjoyed the rural life and spent as much time as possible on my grandparents' farm in Oklahoma.
After graduating from Bowie High School in Texas, I soon joined the Marines. While in the service, I was stationed in Quantico, Virginia where I worked as a graphic artist. I gained a lot of practical experience and learned a lot about graphic art from those I worked with while in the Marine Corps.
Los Angeles, California was my home for the next four years where I attended the Art Center College of Design (now in Pasadena). My degree is a BFA in Illustration.
After graduation I moved to the Dallas area where I met and married my lovely wife, Pat, at Park Cities Baptist Church. We later moved to Lewisville where we had two sons. We were both heavily involved in church, school, coaching and going to the boys' sporting events. It has been a real blessing to watch and help our sons grow up and have families of their own.
My working life was primarily in the illustration, design and marketing fields. I have worked in the marketing departments for several different companies over the years.
I am now painting full time and work exclusively in acrylics on stretched canvas and hard board panels. My interests are in a variety of subjects including southwestern landscapes, beach scenes and animal portraits.
I gave my life to Jesus Christ as a teenager and I believe that God has continued to guide me along in spite of my own stubbornness. Though I am far from perfect, my hope is that others will be able to see the love of Christ in my life.
